Mexico City.- The mayor’s office of Cuajimalpaheaded by Carlos Orvañanosallocated more than seven and a half million pesos to purchase food for events, while part of the food is junk and among the places contemplated to take it are schools, which would hinder the health plans in schools undertaken by the Government of Mexico.
The administration he heads Orvañanos Reacommitted seven million 600 thousand pesos so that the company Peppermint Catering and Banquets, provides them with a “food supply service in different presentations” for events in Cuajimalpa, as stated in the public version of the contract ACM-DGAF-SVS-040-2025, uploaded by the mayor’s office to the National Transparency Platform.
The service contracted by the government of Carlos Orvañanosincludes barbecue, carnitas, hot dogs, carbonated drinks, tamales, sopes, quesadillas, gorditas, tostadas, pambazos, pozole, birria, hamburgers, cake, and taquizas, among other products.
It should be noted that the annex to the ACM-DGAF-SVS-040-2025 contract mentions that the service has the objective of using the food in “events in educational establishments, towns, neighborhoods, recreational, cultural, and sporting events,” located in the district that it governs for the second time in more than a year. Orvañanos Reaand the services are payable from August 15 to December 31.
As this is an open contract, the seven million 600 thousand pesos committed by the government of Cuajimalparepresent the maximum amount that the company can receive Peppermint Catering and Banquets Depending on the amount of products required by the mayor’s office, however, the minimum that the company has to receive is four million 560 thousand pesos of public resources.
