In a press conference, the legislator explained that the license requested from the Board of Directors will begin on Thursday, October 23 and will end on Sunday, November 2. During this period, Fernández Noroña will make a trip that includes stops in the United Arab Emirates, where his air transportation will be covered, and will later visit Palestinian communities at the invitation of the Palestinian Authority. Upon completion, he will travel to Jordan, where he has a couple of official meetings scheduled.
Regarding the possibility of visiting the Gaza Strip under current conditions, he acknowledged that it would be “reckless,” but assured that he will do so if it is part of the official program. Fernández Noroña He also stated that he does not fear retaliation from the United States, pointing out that “the worst thing that could happen to me is that they take away my visa.”

The President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, avoided commenting on the license requested by Fernández Noroña and stressed that it is up to the senator himself to explain the reasons for his decision. “Well, you have to ask Gerardo, right?” the president responded in her morning conference. When insisting on whether he had spoken with him regarding this decision, Sheinbaum reiterated: “He is the one who has to inform it. Each senator or deputy has the right to request leave.”
