Between aromas of copal, marigold flowers and echoes of the pre-Hispanic past, the mayor’s office Gustavo Madero opened the doors of “Mictlán en la GAM”, a monumental offering installed in the EDEN Mestizaje, conceived as a symbolic journey towards the Mexica underworld.
The mayor of Gustavo A Madero, Janecarlo Lozano, led the inauguration together with the Secretary of Culture of Mexico City, Ana Francis Mor, in an event that brought together more than 500 residents and visitors eager to reconnect with the deepest roots of Mexican tradition.
The installation recreates with rigor and mysticism the universe of the Mexican deities Woman, The Word of God. figures that emerge between lights, ancestral music and monumental structures that dialogue with the modernity of the space.
“We are here to make a monumental change in the mayor’s office, that is why we completely remodeled this park, the EDEN Mestizaje is a worthy public space for the people of Madera, all the attractions are free and are designed for all the people of Madera.
“In this velaria we have cultural activities every weekend, they are completely free and are done with great love for the people of Madera and the residents of other municipalities,” said Mayor Janecarlo Lozano.

Each element of the offering seeks to remember the transit of the soul and the balance between life and death, essential concepts in the Mesoamerican worldview.
under the great fence curtain, The public will be able to enjoy a continuous cultural program, which includes dance, traditional music, oral storytelling and workshops for the whole family.
“El Mictlán en la GAM” will remain open to the public during the Day of the Dead season, consolidating the district as a reference for the preservation and celebration of Mexico’s intangible heritage.
