Military expert Colonel Hatem Karim Al-Falahi described the Israeli army’s operation in the town of Beit Jinn in the countryside of the Syrian capital, Damascus, as a failure from a military and intelligence standpoint, as a result of the losses it incurred and its forced withdrawal.

Al-Falahi explained – during his analysis of the military scene in Syria – that the operation relied on intelligence information indicating the intention of armed groups to carry out operations against Israeli forces, considering the statements of Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz regarding the presence of Houthi elements in the region “illogical.”

A Syrian medical source had told Al Jazeera that “13 people were martyred in the Israeli aggression against the town of Beit Jinn,” including children and women, and others were injured in an Israeli artillery and missile shelling that targeted the town, which is about 10 kilometers from the border with the occupied Golan.

In turn, the Israeli army revealed that forces from the Reserve Brigade, led by the 210th Division, went out to arrest wanted persons from the “Islamic Group” in Beit Jinn, noting that 6 soldiers were injured, including 3 in serious condition.

In the same context, the Israeli Walla website reported that the occupation soldiers were forced to leave a damaged military vehicle in Beit Jinn before the air force bombed it.

According to Al-Falahi, during its incursion, the Israeli army tried to “test the pulse of the area and test the infrastructure of the resistance and militants,” but was surprised by the opening of fire from inside the village on the advancing force, which led to its confusion and left one of the vehicles behind, forcing drones and helicopters to intervene.

He concluded that what happened reflects a flaw in intelligence and organizational planning, as the Israeli forces did not expect this resistance, despite their prior knowledge of the presence of armed elements.

According to the military expert, The Israeli army incursion came as part of maneuvers carried out by the 210th Division by order of the Chief of Staff, and in continuation of the Israeli military operations for the year 2025 in this region.

The Israeli Channel 12 had revealed that the Israeli army’s preparations to storm the town took weeks, and that the Israeli Air Force was unable to intervene due to the soldiers’ proximity to the militants.
