REDMOND / LONDON (IT BOLTWISE) – Microsoft plans to introduce a new class of AI agents that can act as independent users within companies. These agents should be able to attend meetings, edit documents and complete tasks autonomously. The announcement could come at the upcoming Ignite conference.

Microsoft recently announced a new class of AI agents designed to act as independent users within organizations. These agents, which have their own identity and dedicated access to corporate systems, are able to collaborate with people and other agents. You can attend meetings, edit documents and carry out tasks autonomously, promising a significant increase in productivity.
The agents will be available in the so-called M365 Agent Store and can be discovered via Microsoft’s Teams tools. A new licensing model called A365, which may become known as Agent 365, aims to allow administrators to assign the necessary licenses upon approval. Interestingly, no additional Microsoft 365 or Teams license is required, making integration into existing systems easier.
A Microsoft MVP, João Ferreira, shared more details about these agents. You will have your own email address, Teams account, and corporate directory listing. In addition to attending meetings and sending emails, these agents can access company data and learn from interactions to improve over time.
The launch of these agents could be announced at Microsoft’s upcoming Ignite conference. Moving to a usage-based pricing model could make it difficult for companies to predict usage and therefore costs.
Another issue is the security and control of these agents.
