The Collective Transportation System (STC) Metro offers residents of the capital a unique opportunity to give a new home to dogs rescued from its facilities.
Through the Canine Transfer Center (CTC), the organization promotes a free and simple adoption program, where each pet receives veterinary attention and care before joining its new family.

A fast and free process
Adopting one of these canines is an accessible and well-organized procedure. The first step is to download and fill out the adoption form, available on the Metro portal. Subsequently, interested parties must go to the Canine Transfer Center, located at Avenida de las Culturas s/n, El Rosario neighborhood, Mayor’s Office. Azcapotzalcoright in front of the station Metrobus High School College 1 (Line 6). Business hours are Monday to Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and reports can be requested by email at ctc@metro.cdmx.gob.mx.
Basic requirements
To complete the procedure, some documents must be presented:
- Copy of the INE or other official identification.
- Proof of recent address (no older than three months) for electricity, water, property or telephone.
Once the documentation is delivered, a home visit will be scheduled to verify that the environment is suitable for the pet. If the requirements are met, the delivery date of the adopted dog will be scheduled.

Dogs ready for a new home
The canines delivered by the CTC are bathed, sterilized and dewormed, ensuring that they are in optimal health conditions. The majority come from rescues within Metro facilities, where they are cared for and rehabilitated by specialized personnel before being put up for adoption.
With this program, Metro CDMX not only seeks to give a second chance to animals in vulnerable situations, but also to promote responsible adoption among citizens. An initiative that shows that helping a four-legged friend can be easier—and more rewarding—than many imagine.
