When asked whether the entire Government is in solidarity with the minister, as Paulo Rangel stated on Wednesday, Leitão Amaro responded affirmatively.
“We all in the Government know this: if there is someone in the Government who inherited a heavy legacy, and who has done, and has to do, and will continue to do a Herculean job to solve a dramatic problem left in the National Health Service, if there is someone who has this heavy legacy, but the capacity, the confidence to solve it, it is certainly the Minister of Health Ana Paula Martins”these.
The Minister of the Presidency considered that the insistent questions about a possible governmental remodeling are part of a “media exercise, of speculation, that begins and ends there”, arguing that the Portuguese expect “concrete measures” from the Government.
“And leave media speculation where it is, and it will stay. Like the foam it is, it will pass, and it will burst, and it will disappear in a short time”he predicted.
