The Ukrainian capital suffered one of the most intense air attacks in recent months in the early hours of this Friday, November 14, in a “massive” assault by Russia that combined drones and several types of missiles. The city’s air defenses were, according to Reuters, in full action, but falling debris caused fires and other significant damage and led to the hospitalization of civilians.
Ukrainian military and monitoring sources described the attack as a complex and highly coordinated operation. Reports published by international media and on social networks indicate that Russia used ballistic missiles, including the advanced Kinzhal, in conjunction with cruise missiles and a swarm of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones). Initial estimates point to the launch of “more than 120 drones” and “dozens” of missiles against the capital region, which was left completely without electricity
The confirmed damage extends to at least five districts of Kiev. Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed that debris hit a five-story apartment building in the Dniprovskyi district on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River. Emergency services evacuated nine residents from this location.
