Al Jazeera’s correspondent reported that the Israeli Air Force launched a series of raids on Wadi Rumine and Jabal Safi in Iqlim al-Tuffah in southern Lebanon, and Israeli warplanes also raided the vicinity of the Zefta River in the Nabatieh district.
The official National News Agency in Lebanon also reported that Israeli warplanes carried out a series of air strikes targeting several places in the south.
The Israeli army said that it struck Hezbollah infrastructure in several areas in southern Lebanon, including what it described as a training complex used by the party’s Radwan Force.
The army added in a statement that it also targeted military installations and a launch site belonging to Hezbollah.
These Israeli raids come less than a week after both Israel and Lebanon sent civilian envoys to a military committee monitoring their ceasefire, a step towards meeting a months-old American demand that the two countries expand talks in line with President Donald Trump’s agenda for peace in the Middle East.
Israel and Lebanon agreed to an American-brokered ceasefire in 2024, ending fighting between Israel and Hezbollah that lasted more than a year. Since then, Israel has launched repeated raids on sites in southern Lebanon despite the ceasefire agreement.
Official Lebanese and international bodies have documented thousands of Israeli land and air violations, including raids, shooting operations, ground incursions, and the blowing up of buildings.
