Digitalization doesn’t stop at the pharmacy world – and that’s a good thing!
Artificial intelligence (AI) offers enormous opportunities to optimize processes, improve customer service and reduce workload. That’s exactly what our workshop was about “AI for Pharmacies: A beginner’s course“, which took place on November 5, 2024 at the premises of Unternehmer nrw in Düsseldorf.
From theory to practice: understanding and using AI
The workshop was aimed at pharmacists and specialists who would like to get started with the topic of AI. With a mixture of theory, practical examples and interactive exercises, the participants immersed themselves in the following topics:
• Basics of AI: What is behind the terms? How does AI work?
• Legal and ethical issues: Data protection, discrimination risks and the EU AI Act were the focus.
• Marketing & KI: How can AI help pharmacies to specifically address the needs of their customers?
• Fields of application in practice: From automated inventory management to personalized medication recommendations – together we have developed ideas on how AI can make everyday pharmacy life easier.
Learn, network and generate ideas
An interactive brainstorming session played a special role in the agenda. Here the participants were able to develop their own visions for the use of AI and share them with colleagues across companies. The lively discussions showed that pharmacies are very interested in actively shaping the digital transformation and benefiting sustainably from the use of AI.
