Mexico City.- On the esplanade of the mayor’s office Cuajimalpa A religious event was held in honor of the call Virgin of Sounds. The celebration was held with the approval of the mayor Carlos Orvañanos, despite the fact that there must be a clear separation between Church and State.
The separation of Church and State is provided for in Article 130 of the Political Constitution. Even so, it is not the first time that the PAN councilor is involved in holding religious events, since Orvañanos Rea He has resorted on other occasions to having priests present to bless public works delivered during his current administration.
The event was held at the initiative of individuals, and began with a pilgrimage along Oyamel Street, in the San José de los Cedros neighborhood, which followed a route of approximately two kilometers until reaching the mayor’s esplanade, located on Juárez Avenue.
In addition, a festival was held with sound music from groups residing in the mayor’s office, as well as the celebration of a thanksgiving mass in honor of the Virgin, also on the esplanade of the mayor’s office. The organizers of the event defined it as an “effort full of tradition, culture and family atmosphere.”
In addition to the approval of the mayor, there was the support of the director of government, Eduardo Velez Ceballosas well as another team of mayoral officials so that this event would take place in the vicinity of the district’s government headquarters.
