On the morning of this Sunday, November 30, the head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, led a press conference in which, at the instruction of President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, he presented security advances in Michoacán.
The secretary highlighted that the work between institutions has allowed the arrest of 932 people for high-impact crimes and the seizure of almost 23 tons of drugs, 924 firearms and the dismantling of 17 laboratories.
He noted that they increased the deployment in the entity with 12,514 elements from the Secretariat of National Defense (Defense), Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), National Guard (GN) and the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection.

In addition, the State Police and Prosecutor’s Office were strengthened with equipment and training under the supervision of the Government of Mexico.
The official explained that to strengthen the National Strategy against Extortion, a sub-headquarters was installed in the State and 089 operators were trained, which has allowed 478 arrests nationwide, 180 of them in Michoacán.
He added that Pedro “N”, an extortionist, was arrested; “El licensed” was also captured, identified as one of the intellectual authors of the murder of the mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzo, which occurred on November 1 during the Candle Festival.

In his speech, the head of the Ministry of National Defense (Defense), General Ricardo Trevilla Trejo, commented that several plans were implemented, giving priority to Morelia, Uruapan and Zamora.
“The actions that were carried out in the Michoacán plan for peace and justice, two intelligence cells were integrated, 22 air operations were carried out, 17 inspection towers against vehicle theft, 25 investigation orders and 29 arrest warrants were executed, 126 inter-institutional bases of operations were carried out and meetings were held”stated the head of Defense in the auditorium of the SSPC ring.
