In thanking the citizens for their support after the murder of Carlos Manzo, his wife, Grecia Quiroz, called for the protests to be carried out peacefully, in memory of the former mayor of Uruapan.
During a live broadcast on Manzo Rodríguez’s Facebook account, the widow declared that she is in favor of raising her voice and for her husband’s legacy to continue, but without engaging in violent acts that could affect the Michoacan municipality or third parties.

“We are going to fight, we are going to raise our voice with whoever we have to raise it, we are going to demand and we are going to ask for justice for Carlos, however, I ask the citizens who are falling into the issue of vandalism, I ask them as a favor and in memory of Carlos that we do it in a peaceful way, we do it in a civilized way, we are going to honor his memory.”
He recalled that Carlos Manzo’s fight was always peaceful and in a civilized manner, since he was against violence, so he asked for the support of citizens to continue in the same way.
“I please ask those who are demonstrating in a disorderly manner, affecting the municipality, affecting third parties, please I ask you with all my heart that we do it in a civilized manner.

“We are not going to do it this way, we are going to do it how he would have liked,” he said.
She reiterated her gratitude for the support shown towards her and her family and assured that she will continue working to honor her husband’s memory and move the municipality forward.
“We are going to work together hand in hand to move forward the town to which he owed so much, the town to which he loved so much with all his heart.”
