I decided Google Relying on a new mechanism to train artificial intelligence models on user data securely and without any external party seeing it, coinciding with rumors of a new deal with AppleAccording to a report published by the technical website “Ars Technique”.
The new mechanism relies on using user data to train artificial intelligence models without any company or external party seeing it in a closed and secure environment away from companies’ access to it.
This decision by Google coincides with the company’s efforts to integrate artificial intelligence technologies into its products in an effort to enhance them.
This concept also mimics what Apple has been doing for several years with “Siri” and other products that require processing user data, as it uses “private cloud computing” that prevents the company from accessing user data and using it directly for training.
Google’s new computing units work by accessing user data, isolating it, and then encrypting it within the computing unit’s memory in a way that does not allow the company to view or understand it, which makes it impossible to access even by Google itself.
The report indicates that Google tested this system with the security company NCC Group to find that it works efficiently and is consistent with strict privacy procedures.
Google describes the process of processing data using private computing for artificial intelligence as completely safe, likening it to processing data in the user’s own processor.
It had previously indicated the ability of its “Pixel 10” phones to process user data and train artificial intelligence models without the need to send user data to servers, using “Gemini Nano” technology. Despite the large capacity of phones and the processors in them, they remain much weaker than cloud server processors.
Google’s move to a private computing mechanism for artificial intelligence coincides with rumors of a major deal between Apple and Google in the artificial intelligence sector, and this deal sees the use of “Gemini” services to operate “Siri” enhanced with artificial intelligence.
Separate reports indicate that Apple has set special requirements to process user data privately and securely without any third party seeing it, even if it is the company itself.
