At a time when international orders are increasingly being questioned, the Federal Government sees the G20 as crucial for crisis response and the development of common solutions. Nevertheless, the G20 remains a forum that includes 19 states as well as the European and African Unions, including both Western democracies and authoritarian-led states. This diversity makes the G20 a unique format for dialogue between different political systems.
After the G20 summit, Chancellor Merz will attend the European Union and African Union summit in Luanda, Angola. This meeting aims to send a signal of cooperation between Europe and Africa to promote dialogue and cooperation and strengthen security and prosperity on both continents.
