The head of the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection (SSPC), Omar García Harfuch, considered that the replacement in the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) will contribute to “strengthening coordination” in matters of security in the country.
García Harfuch He pointed out that in the fourth axis of the National Security Strategy it is “coordination” which is now being sought to be improved with the person in charge of dispatching the FGR, Ernestine Godoy.
After the resignation of Alejandro Gertz Manero from the FGR Last Thursday, Godoy assumed provisional ownership, while the new attorney general is elected, although it is expected that she will be the one who assumes the position.
García Harfuch specified that there was “very good coordination” with Gertz Manero, but highlighted that this is expected to improve even more with the changes that Godoy has begun to make in the attorney general’s office.
Among these changes, on his first day in charge, Godoy appointed Hector Elizalde Mora as new director of the Criminal Investigation Agency (AIC) and César Oliveros Aparicio as head of the Specialized Prosecutor’s Office for Organized Crime (FEMDO).
In this regard, García Harfuch pointed out that Godoy “had also worked with the people who joined his team.”
“These people have already worked with the heads of these security cabinet institutions. So we are sure that coordination will improve,” he said.
