After almost seven hours of debate, Yesterday, the Plenary Session of the Chamber of Deputies approved by majority in general the opinion with the draft decree of the Expenditure Budget of the Federation (PEF) for the fiscal year 2026, with a total net expenditure of 10.1 billion pesos.
The discussion of the reserved articles will take place today, once the session resumes after the recess decreed by the president of the Board of Directors, Kenia López Rabadán (PAN), who announced that they will be for the entire PEF, including annexes, which is estimated to be more than two thousand.
Morena will present 12 reserves and reallocations to spending for 17,788 million pesos to favor priority areas, sacrificing the spending of the National Electoral Institute, the Attorney General’s Office of the Republic and the Judiciary.
Ricardo Monreal, coordinator of Morena, explained that They will cut 15 billion pesos from the Judiciary, one billion pesos from the INE, and 900 million pesos from the Attorney General’s Office (FGR).
He explained that of these cuts, 2 billion pesos will be allocated to culture, and the remainder will be distributed to the protection of protected natural areas, education, and science and technology.
