ATLANTA / LONDON (IT BOLTWISE) – Two Georgia Tech graduates, Chad Pozarycki and José Andrade, have developed an innovative healthcare technology based on NASA technology with their founding company Deleon. Their biochemical monitoring system uses daily urine samples to track metabolites associated with overtraining, stress and recovery. In the future, this technology could also be used for the early detection of diseases.

Deleon’s founders, Chad Pozarycki and José Andrade, took inspiration from NASA’s technology to create a new healthcare innovation. Their startup, which they founded after graduating from Georgia Tech, has developed a biochemical monitoring system that uses daily urine samples to track metabolites linked to overtraining, stress and recovery. This technology could also be used for the early detection of diseases in the future.
Pozarycki and Andrade recognized the opportunity to apply NASA data transmission technology, originally developed to transmit complex chemical information over long distances, to personal health care. Their goal is to make metabolic monitoring more accessible and preventive. Pozarycki expressed frustration that metabolomics has not focused enough on preventive care.
Founding Deleon was not without its challenges. After completing their degrees, the founders worked part-time jobs to keep the project running. They received crucial support from CREATE-X, a Georgia Tech initiative that not only provided them with financial resources, but also with mentoring and contacts with potential customers and industry partners. This support was critical to further developing their prototype and securing a $200,000 investment.
CREATE-X has proven to be a valuable platform for students looking to start their own businesses. Through programs like Startup Launch, participants not only receive financial support, but also the knowledge they need to successfully bring their ideas to market. Deleon’s success story shows how important such initiatives are in driving innovation and economic growth in the region.
