It broke records in the first half of 2025 and second half of 2024 in terms of deaths due to accidents in which any of these units were involved.

Mexico City.- The first half of 2025 and the second half of 2024 were the two with the most deaths recorded in accidents in which a minibus unit was involved in Mexico City, in the last four years.
Between last January and June, nine deaths in accidents in which some of these small buses participated, as revealed by the Quarterly Reports of Traffic Events, published by the Local Mobility Secretariat (Semovi)currently headed by Héctor García Nieto.
The same amount was registered between July and December 2024, a time in which the ownership of the Semov It was first occupied by Andrés Lajous, and then passed the helm to Garcia NietoHowever, it should be noted that it was during the second quarter (the first of the current six-year term), when six of these deaths occurred.
It should be noted that no semester since 2022 has recorded this number of deaths with minibus units involved in the accident, according to the statistics periodically reported by the Secretariat.
Even these nine deaths per semester are equivalent to all those that were recorded in 2022.
The Semov It has not yet revealed figures after June 2025, however, a few days ago it emerged that 15 people were injured after the crash of one of these units corresponding to Route 18. The accident occurred according to the Secretariat headed by Hector Garcia Nietoon Paseo de la Reforma avenue, near the Guerrero neighborhood of the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office.
The accident occurred after the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a light pole.
In turn, it emerged that the driver was arrested and placed at the disposal of the authorities.
