Astoria Visual Arts (AVA) has created a creative fundraising event to celebrate the opening of their new location at 959 Commercial Street. The event, taking place on December 5, offers art lovers and supporters the opportunity to gather in an inspiring environment while supporting the organization’s programs.
The evening begins with a ‘Supporters’ Soiree’ where guests can enjoy live jazz music from Joey Altruda and Dinah Urell from 5pm to 7pm. In addition to culinary delights and drinks, participants have the opportunity to purchase original works of art directly from the wall. This unique opportunity to discover and purchase works of art in a relaxed setting makes the event particularly attractive.
Afterwards, the event turns into a lively dance party, accompanied by DJ Atlas with a mix of world music. From 7 p.m. to 10 p.m., guests can dance and let themselves be carried away by the creative atmosphere. Proceeds from the event go directly to support AVA’s mission, which aims to engage people of all ages and backgrounds in art in the Columbia Pacific River area.
What is particularly noteworthy is that AVA members and art donors receive free entry to the event. For everyone else, admission is $20, with prizes awarded for the best costumes. More information about the event and Astoria Visual Arts’ work can be found on the organization’s website.
