Various mayors and offices of the Mexico City announced a series of cultural, recreational and community activities to mark the start of the Christmas season, which will take place this weekend. These events seek to promote family coexistence and recover December traditions through posadas, artistic presentations, live music, pastorelas and lighting of trees distributed in different parts of the capital.

What to do on the weekend in CDMX?
In Azcapotzalcothe FARO Azcapotzalco will celebrate its traditional Posada Farera on Saturday, December 6 at 4:00 p.m. Attendees will be able to enjoy the presentation of the theater workshop, live music by DJ Zack Vader and La Orquesta Imaginaria y su Combo Schizophrenico. There will also be typical activities such as breaking piƱatas, activities for all ages and coexistence spaces designed to create a festive and community atmosphere.
For its part, the mayor’s office Tlalpan announced the lighting of the Christmas Tree, scheduled for Sunday, December 7 at 6:30 p.m. on the Mayor’s Esplanade. The event will have a special program to welcome families, with music, surprises and activities that will officially mark the beginning of the December celebrations in the district.
Furthermore, the Secretariat of Citizen Security (SSC)in collaboration with the Metro Collective Transportation System, inaugurated a Christmas Village installed in the Glorieta de Insurgentes. The space, decorated with winter motifs and an eye-catching Christmas tree, is open to the public so that visitors and passersby can take photographstour the facilities and enjoy a festive atmosphere in the heart of the city.
“Come with your family and enjoy a moment full of surprises. We are waiting for you!”, the agency invited when announcing the opening of the place.

With these initiatives, Mexico City reaffirms its commitment to promoting spaces for recreation, culture and coexistence during one of the most anticipated seasons of the year.
