Carnegie Clean Energy has made important progress with its wave energy project in Europe, which was recognized with a milestone payment of 351,471 euros from EuropeWave. This payment is part of the Phase 3 contract of the EuropeWave program, which involves the implementation of CETO technology at the Biscay Marine Energy Platform in the Basque Country. The successful completion of manufacturing upgrades and system integration testing has significantly improved the efficiency and operational readiness of the technology.

Carnegie Clean Energy’s CETO technology is an innovative approach to harnessing wave energy that has the potential to significantly impact renewable energy production in Europe. With the current payment, CETO Wave Energy Ireland has already utilized 46% of the EuropeWave Phase 3 contract, representing a sum of €1,736,952 of the agreed €3,746,531. These advances show that the technology is well on its way to playing a significant role in the European energy market.

Another success for Carnegie was winning the Power and Energy Innovation Award at the Australian Department of Defense’s Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) Pitch Day 2025. This recognition highlights the innovative power of Carnegie’s wave energy technologies and their potential support for the Australian Defense Force’s asymmetric capabilities. Such awards and extensive interactions with defense representatives and industry experts at events such as the Indo Pacific International Maritime Exposition demonstrate the growing market potential for Carnegie’s technologies.

Developments in wave energy are of interest not only to the energy industry, but also to the defense industry, which is looking for sustainable and efficient energy sources. CETO technology could play a key role in providing energy to remote military bases or supporting maritime operations in the future. These prospects open up new opportunities and markets for Carnegie Clean Energy that go beyond traditional energy production.
