Brazilian textile artist Ju Bock, born in Rio Grande do Sul and resident in Cascais, has the exhibition Plots in Motion on display at the Hotel Corinthia, in Lisbon. The works, who explore tapestry with wool, cotton and natural fiberswill be on display until December 5th and are part of the space’s cultural program.
Represented by Fema Gallery, Ju Bock developed her artistic research based on techniques she learned as a child, in a family of artisans. Her work merges tradition and contemporaneity, revisiting personal and family memories and transforming knitting and looming into poetic language. During the pandemic, the artist intensified this investigation, creating works that reflect affections, ancestry and the flow of time.

In the exhibition, the tapestries evoke internal and natural landscapes, with plots that suggest changes, pauses and movements. Textures and organic shapes are central elements, in compositions that refer to living and continuous processes, inviting the public to contemplate.
