The deputies questioned the lack of patching and denounced harassing officials who made trips to Europe

Mexico City. – Given the uncertainty of results that the mayor of Tláhuac, Berenice Hernándezin the local Congress, the deputies asked the councilor to explain the cases of negligence in patching, as well as the controversies over harassing officials who evade their responsibilities to travel to Europe, but far from justifying these acts, the Morenista defended them.
The mayor attended the Mexico City Congress as part of the budget 2026. Hernández Calderón requested 2.9 billion pesos for next year’s activities. The approach implies an increase of almost 700 million pesos compared to 2025.
Representative Patricia Urriza questioned that this year Tlahuac had an increase in the budget, but a reduction in the attention to requests for the resurfacing of the streets. He cited the case of residents of the Santa Cecilia neighborhood, where they were denied service.
He also criticized that due to the lack of services, the Participatory Budget projects replace the work of the mayor’s office, although this is not the objective of the initiative. The mayor denied the questions. He indicated that the entire mayor’s office has been bumped and that the projects are not proposed by his government, but by the citizens.
Urriza Arellano caught the attention of the mayor, since the officials in charge of the Schools for Life program evaded their responsibilities to boast about trips to Holland. Instead of clarifying the facts, Mayor Hernández Calderón defended them. He stated that they went to Holland to show off the program, but did not indicate with which government or association.
Representative Yolanda García also expressed complaints about harassment by officials of Tlahuac and asked to know the measures and the budget to train the work team of Berenice Hernandez. The mayor avoided both issues and added her management that combats harassment.
The evasiveness of the Morenista was highlighted by deputy Ricardo Rubio, who warned that despite it being the second triennium of Berenicedelivered a budget advance similar to that of 2024, when there was an underexercise, which is why it warned that it could be repeated. He requested that she explain items where the figures do not match, but the mayor indicated that she would respond in writing, outside of the public table.
