Yesterday, a video was released showing the exact moment in which Donovan and Héctor “N”, also arrested for the crime, shot Cohen.

A camera installed at the main entrance of the José María Morelos y Pavón building, where the offices of Rafael Guerra, president of the Superior Court of Justice (TSJ) of the City, are located, captured the moment.

In the recording, Héctor and Donovan – the aggressors – are seen sitting in a planter.

At 4:19 p.m., Cohen is on the steps of the premises that face Avenida Niños Héroes. The civilista stops to check a message on his phone.

At that moment, Donovan, who is wearing a motorcycle helmet so as not to be recognized, gets up and fires the first detonation, which hits the victim’s head. In turn, Héctor shoots and causes an injury in the groin.

At least six people run for cover after the explosions are heard.

The attackers flee the scene. They both run to Doctor Liceaga where Héctor is injured by an Investigation police officer and, later, arrested.

According to the investigation, Donovan stole a bicycle minutes later. In it he went to the neighborhood, where he took refuge for a few minutes, changed his clothes and, later, left to board an application taxi heading to Iztapalapa.

It was in Santa Martha, bordering the State of Mexico, that he was arrested a week ago.

Donovan was charged yesterday with the possible crime of qualified homicide and will remain in preventive detention.

The precautionary measure had been issued on Saturday, but it was for crimes that are not linked to the Cohen case.

Yesterday, more than a week after the attack, the judge qualified his detention as legal and the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Attorney General’s Office (FGJ) in the capital provided the evidence for the accusation.

However, the defense requested the extension of the constitutional term, so it will be on Friday when it will be determined whether there are sufficient elements to link it to the process for the attack against the lawyer.
