Artist Sameh Hussein explains the fact that he joined the teaching staff at an Egyptian university art

Egyptian artist Sameh Hussein officially denied the validity of the news circulating during the past hours about his appointment as a member of the teaching staff at Helwan University, stressing that what was published had nothing to do with reality, and that his visit to the university came within the framework of an open meeting with students at an official invitation as he is one of the graduates of the Department of Theater Sciences.

Social networking sites witnessed a wide wave of interaction after news spread that the artist had joined the teaching staff, which prompted him to issue a statement on his official Facebook page to clarify the facts. Hussein said that he was not appointed, nor was this matter presented to him in the first place, stressing his full respect for the academic profession and its established rules, and his belief that university teaching should be assigned to academic specialists only.

The artist explained that he met with the President of the University, Dr. Al-Sayyid Qandil, before participating in the open dialogue, where the conversation dealt with modern teaching methods that allow the participation of experts and trainers in the educational process in non-teaching formats, in addition to benefiting from modern means of communication to deliver knowledge to students. He stressed that he expressed his willingness to contribute to this type of participation as a coach in his field of specialization without assuming any academic position or tasks.

Hussein pointed out that his program on social media (Qatayef) was among the reasons that prompted the proposal to provide content through the university’s “Helwan Plus” platform that addresses societal issues related to the curricula, whether through theater or through discussions with specialists. He confirmed that he requested to be accompanied by academic professors to ensure the accuracy of the content and respect for specialization.

The Egyptian artist concluded his statement by emphasizing his respect for all opinions and specializations, and his keenness to support his university students and provide any experience that could benefit them, indicating his pride in belonging to Helwan University and his willingness to contribute to developing educational methods to suit new generations.
