Ana Castela, who will be in Portugal on tour this month, gave an interview to DN Brazil about shows in the country and how his career is going in Brazil.
How do you evaluate your musical moment in Brazil?
I’m living a very special moment! We are reaching wonderful numbers and achieving achievements that I never imagined I would achieve with my music. But mostly I feel like I conquered my space and that the public embraced me in a unique way. And at the same time, I continue to learn, grow and seek new ways to connect with people through my work.
Women continue to rise in the Brazilian countryside. How does it feel to be one of these main voices, and also one of the youngest?
It’s a huge honor. I grew up listening to several incredible women who paved this path, and today being able to be among these voices is a source of great pride. I also feel a great responsibility, especially because I’m so young, but this only motivates me to continue.
You have been here in the past. What marked you most about your previous experiences in Portugal?
The affection of the public. Portugal surprised me a lot! I remember the energy, everyone singing together, the warm welcome. It’s something that has remained with me forever.
How do you feel about returning to Portugal after the success of your last performances here?
I’m very happy and excited! Coming back after everything I experienced the first time is really special. I feel like now the public knows me better, they know my songs, and that makes everything even more exciting.
Is there anything special in terms of production, scenography, lighting or effects that was specially thought out?
Yes! We’re bringing you a brand new show, with balletchoreography, lights and scenery that will give even more impact. It is a larger production, prepared with great care to surprise the Portuguese public.

What can audiences expect from Set List? It will be a mix of already known hits and new songs from the album Let’s Go Rodeo?
Exactly! There will be the hits that the guys already sing with me and also the new songs from “Let’s Go Rodeo”. I want it to be a complete show, with that mix of emotion and energy.
And how has the album been received? Let’s Go Rodeo?
It’s been incredible! People really connected with the project, and I was really happy with the way they received this more country side. It was a bet that paid off very well!
How do you imagine the relationship with the Portuguese public in the medium and long term — collaborations, festivals, or even partnerships designed for here?
I want it to be an increasingly close and lasting relationship. I want to come back more often, take part in festivals and even tour more with my family. I think this cultural exchange is very rich and can yield beautiful things.
Can you leave a final invitation message for the fans?
I want to invite everyone to be with me at these three shows in Portugal. I’m going to visit Porto and Lisbon and I guarantee you that it will be a beautiful party, with lots of music, energy and emotion. I hope everyone can sing, dance and live unforgettable moments together!
