The US Federal Aviation Administration announced that a UPS cargo plane crashed while taking off from Muhammad Ali International Airport in Louisville, Kentucky, on its way to Hawaii.
The Louisville International Airport administration confirmed that the accident occurred at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday local time, noting that the airport was closed.
The American shipping company UPS said that three crew members were on board its crashed plane.
For its part, the Associated Press reported that a huge fire broke out after the plane crashed while taking off from the airport.
While Louisville police said that injuries had been reported as a result of a plane crash near Fern Valley Road and Grade Street, the city’s mayor confirmed that no injuries or casualties had yet been confirmed in the plane accident.
The US Federal Aviation Administration stated that the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation and provide all updates on the incident.

The accident comes while many airports in the United States are witnessing a state of chaos amid warnings that the entire navigation system will stop due to the lack of air traffic controllers in light of the continued government closure.
Earlier, American navigation sources said that more than 3 million passengers were affected by the cancellation or delay of flights due to the lack of air traffic controllers.
US Secretary of Transportation Sean Duffy warned of complete chaos in air traffic if the government closure continues, noting that the US aviation system may be halted if the administration of President Donald Trump believes that the government closure will make travel unsafe.
