Two planes collide on the runway of a New York airport due to the lack of air traffic controllers in the US

United Airlines Flight 580 landed from Chicago and, while heading to its arrival gate, collided with the tail of United Airlines Flight 434, which was stopped on the runway waiting to take off for Houston.
