Russia continues its escalation in Ukraine. At least three civilians have died and 10 were injured during the early hours of this Monday in an attack by the Russian Army with two missiles against the city center Balaklia, in the Kharkiv region.

The missiles fell near residential buildings and a nursery. Several photographs provided by regional authorities show the damaged façade of a multi-story brick building with shattered windows, while flames burned on an upper floor and debris and broken tree branches covered the area.
As a result of a Russian missile attack on a densely populated residential area in the town of Balakliia in the Kharkiv region, 3 people were killed and 13 were injured, including 4 children.

Although the Kharkiv region is the scene of hostilities, Balaklia is located about 60 kilometers from the nearest point of the combat zone. Before the war, the municipality had more than 26,000 inhabitants
Karabanov has also confirmed that nine of the injured have been hospitalized and that the rescue efforts were continuing at the time when the casualty report was published.
It must be remembered that Balaklia was one of the towns in the Kharkiv region taken by the Russians at the beginning of the invasion and recovered by Ukraine in the fall of 2022, when kyiv troops launched their most successful offensive so far in the war in Kharkiv and Kherson.
