Pedro Sanchez Today he faces his most dramatic day so far this term, given the confluence of the different fronts that have been surrounding his Government.

This Thursday, the Executive will once again suffer a resounding parliamentary defeat, when Congress overturns the path of budget stability presented by Moncloa.

By not passing this preliminary and essential phase, the Government will see its purpose of approving the General State Budgets for next year frustrated. With which the legislature will be definitively doomed to ungovernability.

In parallel, José Luis Ábalos y Koldo Garcia They attend a hearing in the Supreme Court so that the investigating judge of the case decides whether to toughen the precautionary measures against them. And it is foreseeable that both will be sent to provisional prison.

But the day before was not much more reassuring for the president either.

In the middle of the Control Session, José Luis Ábalos dropped the bomb in Congress through his social networks: the interview between Sánchez and Arnaldo Otegi “existed.” The former minister thus ratifies Koldo Garciawho also confirmed EL ESPAÑOL’s exclusive (qualified by the president as a “lie”) about the meeting between Sánchez and Santos Cerdan with Otegi to agree on the 2018 motion of censure in a village in the Basque Country.

With this new corroboration, Moncloa’s denial is now definitively unsustainable. Hence, government sources have gone on to discredit the testimony of who, until a few years ago, was Sánchez’s lieutenant, claiming that one becomes “deranged” cWhen “they ask for 24 years [de cárcel] with his age.”

But what interest could Ábalos have in propagating a lie like that in his circumstance? Why would Koldo make up a whole fable about a hamlet and a secret meeting?

By persevering in the denial, Moncloa only redoubles the embarrassment. Because he is also unable to explain how the entire story of the hamlet pact fits with the subsequent sequence of events.

This carousel is enlarged with the coincidence, on the same day of this revelation, of the summons as witnesses of Santos Cerdán and Antonio Hernando by the instructor Leire case.

It is unspeakable that the former Secretary of Organization and the Secretary of State for Telecommunications have to appear to clarify whether, in the meetings held in Ferraz with the plumber in 2024, recordings made by Villarejo in which reference is made to the saunas run by Sánchez’s father-in-law. Audios that, according to Dolset, Hernando would have tried to obtain to remove Sánchez from the primary race.

To finish this terrible daythe researcher of the Koldo case has agreed this Wednesday to require the PSOE to provide the Court with the list of cash payments made between 2017 and 2024 and the documents that support them, to clarify whether these settlements that Sánchez acknowledged having received have a lawful justification.

Faced with this combination of adversities, the catalog of clumsy excuses and implausible alibis that Moncloa is deploying to try to appease the precipitation of scandals turns the agony of this Government into an unprecedented absurdity. And another example of this is that Sánchez continues to proclaim the innocence of his attorney general despite having been convicted for revealing confidential data.

All of this attests that Sánchez has been left without resources to deal with the perfect storm that has loomed over him at the end of his mandate.
