Socialism, a secular religion that even the Christian Democratic right professes in Europe, has attributed the economic prosperity after World War II to the pact between market freedom and the welfare state.
This pact, never explicitly submitted to the ballot box, says “Let the capitalist ant create wealth so that the socialist grasshopper can redistribute it.”.
Illuminated by only one of its sides, that pact translates as “share your benefits in exchange for social peace.”
Illuminated from the other side, he says “work so that we can buy the vote of our voters with your money.”
The first side is blackmail.
The second, the perversion that lies at the heart of all democracies. The idea that all votes have the same weight, without distinguishing between those who produce and those who receive income from the previousvia state coercion.
The result is a political class that, for the most part, has never contributed to the private sector. That is, a social class that is ignorant of productivity, but how praise in waste, and whose priority interest is not the well-being of society, but rather its perpetuation in power.
That is, the eternalization of the bureaucratic hulk, converted into an end in itself.
In The rebellion of the masses, José Ortega y Gasset writes:
“Do you see what the paradoxical and tragic process of statism is? Society, in order to live better, creates, like a utensil, the State. Then, the State supersedes itself, and society has to begin to live for the State. But, in the end, the State is still made up of the men of that society. Soon these are not enough to sustain the State, and foreigners must be called in: first, Dalmatians; then, Germans. Foreigners become owners of the State, and The remains of society, of the initial people, have to live as slaves of them, of people with whom they have nothing to do. This is what the interventionism of the State leads to: the people become meat and pasta that feed the mere artifact and machine that is the State. The skeleton eats the meat around it. The scaffold becomes the owner and tenant of the house.
“The skeleton eats the flesh around it.” There is no better possible definition of statism.
Anticipating this outcome, the Greeks coined the term oclocracia (the populist government of the crowd) to define the final phase of all democracy.
It is important to understand that the oclocracia It is not a tumor of democracy, that is, a disease in a healthy body. It is your natural destiny.
Because democracy, by its own empathetic nature, always degenerates into oclocracia. Always.
Pedro Sanchez is the most obvious example of this. Spain is today a oclocracia and proof of this are La 1, the CIS polls, the BOE or the debates in the Congress of Deputies.
Be that as it may, the European pact between capitalism and public rentiers generated prosperity during its first decades of life because, as he said Margaret Thatcher“socialism works until it runs out of other people’s money.”
However, four factors have derailed it.
1. The first, the elephantiasis of the socialist State itself, which has increased its size to occupy half of the national GDP.
49.4% on average in EU countries.
45.4% in Spain, although with a GDP per capita that is 11.6% lower than in Europe.
2. The second, the low birth rates, caused by the deterioration of the quality of life in the EU and by the influence of social trends that demonize the family and oppose it to a presumed self-actualization that has led to epidemic rates of loneliness and depression.
In Spain, the 318,005 births in 2024 are 0.8% less than in 2023. Our historical minimum since 1941.
This collapse coincides with the arrival of the baby boomers at retirement age. Over the next ten years, 6.5 million people will retire in Spain.
The wave of the baby boom arrives in pensions. In the next 10 years, more than 6.5 million people expect to retire in Spain.

3. The third, immigration, which arrives en masse to European shores not in search of work and integration, but of a welfare state that promises exactly the opposite: income without the need for integration.
In 2024, Spain had a positive migration balance of 500,000 people for the third consecutive year. The largest in the entire EU.
4. The fourth, suicidal economic policies that have led to the coining of the expression “The United States invents, China copies and Europe regulates.”
No longer capable of producing well-being, European socialism, threatened on a military level by Russia and colonized economically by China and Qatar, as well as by other minor actors, but very active in the field of espionage and bribery of high officials, tries to slow down its decline by increasing its extractive voracity, increasing bureaucratic regulations and imposing censorship under the pretext of disinformation.
The result is the exponential growth of anti-system parties.
Dedicated to this decadent reality, socialism, expert in the makeup of its historical failures, has devised a new doctrine whose objective is to present the consequences of its policies as something not only beneficial, but desirable.
And not only desirable from an economic point of view, but also from a moral point of view.
It is the romanticization of poverty.
The idea is simple. If the Government is only capable of generating poverty, sociological socialism will sell poverty as a desirable, profitable and ethically inevitable end.
And from there headlines in the media like:
Why sharing a flat drives social and professional growth
El Catalatas: “They have been telling me for ten years that an expired clam is better than a new one and I say, what have you smoked? But it’s true”
What is sologamy: this trend is triumphing in Spain, but it worries singles
The quiet quitting phenomenon: working just enough, living better
The success of the staycation or staying home in August and not going on vacation
“Having material things is in bad taste today, but having nothing is a luxury for few”
If you prefer to spend time alone instead of with people, you’re in luck: psychology ensures that you will have these incredible traits
Goodbye to throwing away expired food: what you should know to avoid waste without risking your health
Sharing a flat: The new viral fashion among the not so young anymore!
Childfree: the trend on social networks for women who do not want to have children
These are all real headlines.
The Spanish Government, for its part, publicizes the increase in poverty in Spain on networks congratulating on the increase of recipients of the Minimum Living Income.
The IMV reaches almost 2.4 million people in October:
✔️There are 773,272 households covered, 131,998 single parents.
✔️40.1% of the beneficiaries are minors, which means 968,881 boys, girls and adolescents protected by this benefit. pic.twitter.com/pYttJaQzPQ

To the reader who is interested in the harmony, not just cyclical, but structural, of socialism with Islam and its “social protection” networks, I recommend this article by Daniel Ben-Ami titled What Islamism and the left have in common.
The consequence of this drift will not be, as an adventure Michel Houellebecq in Submissionan alliance of the left with Islamism, but the occupation of the leadership of the traditional socialist parties by Islamist politicians, first apparently woke (as Zohran Mamdami in New York or Sadiq Khan in London), and later openly radical.
Are we betting anything that this is the future of the West?
