For 15 minutes I walked around the entire shopping center looking for a free parking space, finally, I saw a lady walking towards her car. I accelerated to get into the place I would leave, and waited patiently for the lady to put all her belongings in her truck.
The reverse lights came on indicating her departure, I sighed in relief and backed up a little so she could get out. Suddenly, a man who had just arrived accelerated his car and shamelessly drove into the space I was waiting for. I felt like I was fuming! and courage made me turn the same color as the lady’s red truck.
I was ready to roll down the glass and insult that man, but I took a deep breath and decided to “rise above the storm.” Let me explain to you, when someone provokes us, we can act like crows, or we can behave like an eagle. This bird, when it encounters bad weather, instead of flying through the storm, majestically and without losing its calm, begins to spread its wings until they extend eight feet wide.
At that moment it rises above the storm and rises to a height where the weather is clear. These feathered birds have the ability to reach an astonishing elevation of 10,000 feet, something that no other bird reaches and that is why the eagle is the only animal of its species that has shared the skies with commercial airplanes at those heights.
I confess that after parking and passing by the gentleman’s car (not such a gentleman by the way), I had the fantasy of deflating the car’s tires…well, just one!, but I sighed again and with a smile said: “I am an eagle and I can fly above this storm.”
The next time someone provokes you, instead of lowering yourself to their level, act like that bird.
splendor, spread your wings and ascend to a clear sky where always, like an eagle, you will find peace.
