The Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico reported that the body of priest Ernesto Baltazar Hernández Vilchis was located in a sewage canal in Nextlalpan. Two people have been arrested for these events and are being investigated for disappearances committed by private individuals. On October 31, relatives reported the disappearance of the priest, who was officiating masses in the La Piedad de Tultepec neighborhood.

According to the investigations, the 43-year-old priest was at a home in the Morelos Housing Unit, in Tultitlán, where he lived with a woman and Brandon Jonathan “N”, who allegedly attacked him with a sharp object after consuming alcohol and narcotics. The detainees are María Fernanda “N” and Brandon Jonathan “N”.

The Prosecutor’s Office located the priest’s vehicle through road arches heading to Hidalgo, accompanied by a motorcycle. After identifying the owner of the motorcycle, he declared that he had lent it to Brandon Jonathan “N” to sell a truck. With this information, the suspect’s home was searched on November 9, where they found the priest’s clothes, belongings, sharp objects and traces of blood.

The victim arrived at the apartment on October 29 with a woman; Brandon Jonathan “N” was already there. After the attack, both detainees tried to hide the body, wrapped it and took it on October 30 to Nextlalpan, where they abandoned it. The body was found on Tuesday.

Both defendants were brought before the court: he in the Cuautitlán Prison and she in Barrientos.
