After forcing the main entrance, the protesters broke into the Government Palace and vandalized offices, breaking windows and destroying furniture.
Mexico City, November 2 (However).- The march which took place in Morelia afternoon this Sunday, to protest the assassination of the Mayor of Uruapan, Carlos Manzoconcluded with the irruption of a group of hooded al Government Palace.
Most of the protesters left the scene at the time the doors from the palace were knocked down by the Protestants. The act resulted in destruction partial of the workshops of this administrative area.
In videos circulating on social networks, a demonstration can be seen advancing peacefully through the streets of the Michoacan capital. Upon arriving at the Historic Center of Morelia, the bulk of the people protesting were chanting the National Anthem when a group of protesters decided to attack the Government Palace.
According to the videos released, the group that attacked the municipal precinct were protesters, some hooded and others not, who carried sticks, stones and Molotov cocktails; objects with which they managed to demolish one of the entrances to the building to enter and carry out the destruction.

In one of the videos broadcast from inside the Palace, protesters can be seen destroying windows and throwing furniture outside.
The hooded men also set fire to different offices at the headquarters and painted paintings on the walls of the place. Given these events, police forces went to the scene to contain the protesters and disperse the people who managed to open the doors of the government compound.
Between shouts of “Justice!”, “Murderers!” and “Uruapan is not alone!”, the anti-riot teams detained different protesters with the use of tear gas and rubber bullets. After the officers intervened, several people were arrested.

According to a report from state authorities, the demonstration, which began as a peaceful march in protest of the murder of the Mayor of Uruapan, led to the violent invasion of the Government Palace: offices vandalized, furniture set on fire and seven people placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry.

The report details that around 800 people gathered at the José María Morelos equestrian plaza to start the march “Enough of omissions and abuses.”
Upon arriving at the Government Palace, around 4:44 p.m., a group of approximately 150 people demolished the main entrance and entered the premises, where material damage and acts of vandalism were recorded.
The mobilization was led by leaders linked to political parties such as the National Action Party (PAN) and the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI).
Among the names identified by state authorities are: Mauricio Hernández Salmerón and Raúl Meza Avance, members of the Social Revolution group linked to the PRI; former federal magistrate Froilán Muñoz; and Alan Juárez, current Director of Preservation and Promotion of Popular Art of the Morelia City Council (2024–2027), affiliated with the PAN.
