The UN considered that the unilateral attacks that the US has been carrying out against vessels in the Caribbean Sea constitute a violation of international law on the protection of human rights.

Los Angeles, October 31 (La Opinion).- The, at least, 12 attacks of USA (EU) a boats and the resulting deaths violate international law, accused the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (ONU-DH), Volker Turkwho asked the Government of the President Donald Trump end with such military strategy.
“These attacks and its increasing human cost are unacceptable. USA You must stop these attacks and take all necessary measures to prevent extrajudicial executions of the people on board these boats“said the High Commissioner. “The air strikes of USA against vessels in the Caribbean and the Peaceful they violate the international law of the human rights“, stressed the official.
So far, the attacks have been in the Caribbean, near the coasts of Venezuela and Colombia, as well as in the Eastern Pacific, where at least 61 people have died.

The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth, pointed out that this is a campaign against narcoterrorists, which is why President Trump follows the order, which establishes a “war” against these criminal groups, to prevent them from sending drugs to the United States.
However, in the US Senate, including Republicans, there have been questions about this military strategy and Democrats are seeking to approve a resolution that limits the military strategy.

Although the US is not a signatory to the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea held that the use of force should be the last resort in actions by countries in the open sea.
